The kennel
affix "Starfish" began in 1996 and it 's registered in F.C.I. and Portuguese Kennel Club
and and it's name comes from:
* "Star" - Portugal Star Mountain and its magnificent
representative canine, Star Mountain Dog (our first
breed), and
* "Sea" - the Algarve and its magnificent representative
canine, Portuguese Water Dog.
We decided
to create selectively breeds Portuguese Water
Dog and Bearded from Terceira, we did so first because we
are born in Algarve (Neusa Toste) and Terceira Azores
(Paulo Toste) and secondly because we can contribute
for the preservation and dissemination of these magnificent
and unique breeds which are without doubt, a national
genetic heritage that we want to preserve, promote and
disseminate.
