The Portuguese Water Dog is a family's dog that loves to run and swim for hours on a beach, as well as lying quietly in the room at the foot of the owner. This dog is  perfect with children because it is not aggressive and is very playful even in his old age, it seems never to grow remaining all his life like a puppy.  It has a tender and penetrating look with a striking visual capacity, even under the thick fringe.

Is brash, headstrong and brave, has a great sensitivity and perception, seems to have a second sense, which makes it great in relation to children and the elderly. It also has an  guard instinct very developed.

The Bearded Dog From Terceira Island - Azores - portugal is  deeply gentle, contrary to what transpires in their size, he is a faithful defender of peace. He trades in  good will, a manly show of aggression by some licks playful with whom that will give him the least attention and affection.

He is one of the oldest dog breeds in the Azores. This Dog driving and protection of cattle and in particular (Bulls) was used mainly in mountainous areas and followed the shepherds and herds. Always remained at the foot of the cattle, even while the shepherd is away, thus forming his independent temperament and his tendency to excellent Dog guard, working and driving cattle.
His dedicated nature makes this breed well adapted to modern times, where many dogs have to wait until the owners return at the end of the day.
